I can’t believe I’m typing this:

I agree with Nancy Pelosi!

Well, maybe I should say “Nancy Pelosi agrees with me!”

I oppose the ChiCom Olympics.  The IOC should have never awarded the games to the Red Chinese.  I can’t accept that a mere thirteen years after the PLA killed over 1,000 people in Tiananmen Square, the ChiComs were given the honor and prestige of hosting the 2008 Summer Games.  The 1976 Games were not awarded to Budapest, nor were the 1988 Games held in Prague.

I would prefer it if the US boycotted the ChiCom games, but I know that won’t happen.  But at least Bush doesn’t have to give the Reds the honor they so desperately crave.  He should not attend the Games.  Not the opening ceremonies, not one event.  He should not congratulate any athletes.

And this is where Madame Speaker comes in.  Recent events in Tibet have impelled Ms. Pelosi to call for a boycott of the Games by Mr. Bush.  She notes that the Chancellor of Germany will not attend, and gives Red China’s human rights violations as sufficient cause.
